From Late Summer to Fall 2021

Summer has slowly turned into Autumn here. October 16th was 80 degrees! The next day we almost hit 60... At least both days at the Rhode Island dog shows were breezy. No frost yet, so the green tomatoes still on the vine are slowly ripening...may even get a few more yet. The last blooms of summer are the Montauk Daisies.

They brighten the white garden...especially now that the leaves have started to fall creating a carpet of brown below them. And because there hasn't been a significant cold snap, most of the trees are still green...leaving the few that have turned looking truly brilliant.

I felt lucky to have the time to join the group of TT enthusiasts who take nature walks together at various locations in New England with their dogs. It's the 2nd time I joined them at Halibut Point in Rockport. It's always fun...and entertaining because of the TTs. A great way to connect and enjoy both two legged and four legged friends.

Doris went to visit Gail Toracinta...where --btw-- she fit in quite nicely according to Gail...and to find love in all the right places.

Ruben was immediately smitten with her captivating ways and the two celebrated in the way that makes us breeders forever happy! The results was a beautiful litter of pups!

The Doris/Ruben pups went to their homes weeks later. Abbott, Betty, and Bunty filled my days with their constant love and antics. Travis got to visit many times to watch them grow into little beauties. And I enjoyed rubbing bellies and discouraging the ravishment of those Montauk Daisies! They loved playing tug-and-pull with every bloom.

I was happy to attend the once every four years Morris & Essex dog show in New Jersey where costuming-up is part of the experience. I donned on a Victorian type jacket with spats and joined in on the frivolity. It was a fun day with many TT exhibits and much camaraderie. Everyone had a good time and the weather cooperated! I took many photos of a variety of outerwear worn by exhibitors and spectators from decades gone-by.

Besides Morris & Essex there have been a few more dog shows. Happy to report that Bolt's son, BB, or Baby Bolt as he's called, finished his AKC championship last month.

Miss Monroe, Penne, and Jessica are still strutting their stuff when time permits. It's amazing how a year and a half away from the rings now jams everything up.

I enjoy receiving up-dates and notes, emails and photos. It's never enough. Forever happy that folks share the happy moments with me --like birthdays...so I can remember them for their very beginnings. Thank you all!

Hi Dennis,

Kai says hi! He’s a happy and healthy boy. He eats well now. All test results were normal related to the GI issues and the high fiber diet has been working well.

He loves to find new trails in upstate New York. In this picture, he’s halfway through a 2 mile walk at Green Lakes.

Sincerely,

Colleen

I received a wonderful hand written note...something I will cherish forever. Maddie needed to write me about her new friend and companion, Leo, and to try to make me feel better about having to part with him. I had to include one side of it to share. Such a sweet note. Having been a teacher for many years, my ability to read kid's writing immediately returned. You can see the "dear Denis" that starts the note. Thank you, Maddie.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you. Leo has brought so much joy to us already. He had a vet appointment (and a shot) today and didn’t even cry/flinch. I did. Hand fed him cook chicken to ease the situation.Tom and I (and the kids) want to thank you for providing us with such a wonderful dog who goes in his crate with such ease and sleeps so well through the night.

Maddie’s note is definitely a “challenge” to read, especially since the pages don’t go in order, but I am glad it makes you smile. It’s straight from the heart. She felt badly about us taking Leo from you. I told her you have other dogs and likely more puppies in the future.

I hope you are doing well and the computer issues are resolved.

Hi Dennis,

Tashi turned out to be such a different dog from Maya! For starters, he loves his food, and she was always a bit hard to feed. His coat is really soft and his colors are beautiuful. He is a loving boy, who gets excited about meeting everyone.

KDee and son Snowy helped celebrate the Olympics while still up in New Hampshire. Debbie and Jim found a way to help us all enjoy the events.

With sadness I share the news about

Linda & Bob's Tashi

who found her way over the Rainbow Bridge.

I am always grateful to know

how they were loved...

right to to the time

you have to say goodbye.

Hi Dennis,

Hope you are well. Bob and I are deeply saddened by the loss of a girl Tashi. She passed away yesterday, 10/4/21. She was the joy of our life and we will miss her tremendously. Even in her passing we will always consider ourselves a member of the Kiara family. We are not ready to replace her right now, but may eventually want to. Please let us know if you will be having future litters. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Linda and Bob

I receive and see lots of photos. After using Maxwell's slumber photo at the end of the last edition of Kiara News & Reviews, I started saving the "sleeping dog" photos. Cuddled, stretched out, bedded or back-to-back or side-by-side...it's the Let Sleeping Dogs Lie photo journal for this edition's light-hearted enjoyment.

They're all exceptionally cute! An abundance of repose.

A happy Trick 'o Treat to All!

More later...
