Holiday Season 2011
Once again the holiday season is upon us. In my way of thanking the many who have made wonderful homes for my TTs I post this YouTube seasonal pictorial slide show. It’s fun for me to prepare and I hope you take a moment to view it. Happiest Holidays to one and all!
There are many happy things to report. Mike McLoughlin completed Miss Rosie’s AKC championship a few weekends ago. Now herald CH Lukilu Everything’s Coming Up Roses At Kiara. She joined the ranks of her relatives in the Kiara Hall of Fame…see it in that section of the website. She’s not done yet because Mike will commence “specialing” her along with her Mom Sadie, CH Kiara Harlem Song. How many Mikes will that take! Just look at her beautiful finishing photo. Way to go Rosie!
Rosie is not alone winning this praise. Her cousin Cooper also completed his championship the following weekend with a 5 pointer! He too can be seen in the Hall of Fame. Check out CH Kiara Ewok Among Us: that’s Cooper. Congratulations to his co-owners Miles and Travis. Their dedication and wonderful caring are responsible for Cooper being the third brother out of that litter to complete their AKC championships. Cooper’s brothers are Bodhi, CH Kiara Bodhi, and Puddin’, CH Kiara You Light Up My Life. The breeding that produced this beautiful litter has just been repeated; we look forward to the same quality of beauty and exceptional temperament all the pups in that litter excelled in. Special thanks to Cooper’s handler and owner, Travis. Learning the finer points of handling showing Cooper to his championship…I’ve got to give it to him…all the praise in the world. And look at the result: a beautiful dog and a happy owner/handler…even if it was a rainy dank day. Congratulations Cooper and Travis!
And showing from the Kiara Home has been eventful as well. On his first weekend out Kiara Hollywood Bad Boy, Naldo, earned his first major. It was his first day in the ring! The following days he tired and didn’t shine as much…but it’s a good beginning.
And as always there are lots of TT notes, letters, and visits. Another Bodie came to visit while his owners, Phil & Cathy, went to have fun and visit family in NYC. He turned out nicely, complimenting his mom, Dream, and dad, Bodhi, like his brother, Q-Tip, and sister, Louise, both in residence here. Bodi enjoys a relaxing moment on the chaise – coming home to Kiara was a welcoming experience…he hadn’t forgotten anything.
Hi Dennis-Hope all is well with you. We are absolutely loving our T.T. 'Bodie'. He is such a good-natured happy puppy (what dog wouldn't be with the way we spoil him!). People are always saying to me "You are so lucky to have one of Dennis' puppies- he raises the best dogs." We couldn't be happier with our little guy.
Thanks, Cathy
Dennis:
Hey there. I wanted to reach out and say hello. Grayson and I own Bandit; he was part of your Oct 7, 2010 litter. Bandit has just turned a year old and is an absolute amazing dog…I would love to share some recent photos if you want to post any on your website…
I also have friends that are interested in getting one. When do you think you’ll have the litter ready for viewing, adoption? I will pass that along. A co-worker is excited here.
Love to hear back.
Thanks, Alec
Photos coming soon…
BTW, Bandit has been photographed for a Olympian Cyclist Catalog (we think he didn’t make the final cut), filmed for a reality show on Style Network called Misfit (we’ll see if he makes the show trailer) and last week photographed to be the spokes dog for a Pet and dry mitt website to dry dogs… Too funny! He’s a looker…
Introducing Barnes and Noble, Born Tuesday 10-11-11. Rena had 2 beautiful sable and white pups. One male, Barnes, and the other a female, Noble. Both are doing well . Rena has enough milk for the whole town!!! Rena surprised me when I came home on Tues. with her pups in her crate. She did a fabulous job. What a good mom. Will send pics. Bye for now, Cheryl
Dennis, hope you are doing well. Daisy has been a great joy in our
lives. Everyone who meets her loves her. She just got spayed 3 weeks ago and is doing great.
We were wondering if you are available to dog sit for us again from
December 31st till January 8th. We are going on our annual Disney
World trip and know Daisy would love to see her family again! Let me know when you have a minute.
Thanks!
Jeff
HELLO DENNIS, JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT "ROSEBUD" IS DOING VERY WELL. WE'RE WORKING ON HER "POTTY TRAINING". SHE HAS A GOOD APPETITE AND SEEMS SO SMART. THE MC ADAMS DROPPED BY ON SUNDAY AND LOVED HER. MY VET EXAMINED HER AND GAVE HER A BIG "O.K." SHE HAS A GREAT APPETITE. I DID SHAMPOO HER AND SHE REACTED WELL. SHE DOESN'T WANT TO WALK ON THE ROAD. I'M TRYING TO EASE HER INTO THAT SLOWLY. MY LIFE IS CHANGING AND I LIKE IT!
I'M HAPPY TO HAVE SUCH A SWEET "BUDDY".
BEST REGARDS, JUNE
Hi Dennis,
Hope this note finds you well. Today is Tashi’s birthday, she 1 year old today. It has been a fun 10 months that we have had her. She is the princess of the neighborhood. We still get questioned about her everywhere we go. Tashi has been going to puppy school for the past nine months. She is very well behaved and next month she starts classes to become a Theraphy dog. We where told we justed missed you by 10 minutes at the Topsfield dog show. We met some very nice people there. Looking forward to many more great years with Tashi. Be well and stat in touch
Bob and Linda
Great pictures came in from Marilyn. Little Zeke is growing up in his new home. He went out Halloweening with his family dressed as a bat. It’s fantastic to see how well the little ones fit into their new companion families’ lives…making them great and loving additions.
Last shot is of the beautiful Miss Sugar. She too has won praises at dog shows. Here, on her grooming table, she is just waiting for her moment to shine in the ring. And when she does she is eye-catching.
Happiest Holidays to one and all from Kiara! May your New Year be blessed with happiness and wonderful events.
Until next time . . .

Well as summer heats up, it’s time to bring it all up to date. July 4th gives a little reprieve from dog shows, and household and gardening chores, and Mexican adventures. I can sit and reflect and report.
Above is a lovely photo of Sugar. Mike keeps her looking beautiful like her at-home TT sisters, Sadie, Rosie, and Bee.
And here little Naldo has been growing up. He's our little golden boy. Spirited, sweet, and handsome, Naldo is maturing nicely. Pictures show it all.
There are little ones to see. At six weeks old, they are fascinating to watch as they tentatively take their first adventurous steps into the outdoor world. The three are Miss Dream’s last footprint on the breeding program. One of the little guys is staying. (Who? Who? Who?) Still a toss up. They are also the first of Mister Bodhi’s kids to come into being. Great hope that Mom and Dad’s attempt brings goodness and joy.
And coming home has allowed time to visit old friends. This past week I had a wonderful visit with my friend Sandi and her two TTs Mini-Claire (alias: Jewel) and Kasha (alias: Kidd). Both TTs were parents at one time and are the grandparents to my Yogi (CH Kiara Harlem Night of Zin-Pa). Old, yes, but doing well in their 14th year on this earth. Sandi loves them dearly and those bonds are strong. They greeted me at the door…never a TT born here forgets the hands and voice that helped bring them into this world. But leave Sandi!!! It is always so comforting to know how much they love their owners. I know by the end of the visit Mini-Claire became scarce: she wasn’t interested in leaving her home to have any more puppies!
------------------------------------------YOGI--------------------------------------------------
It’s always “the best” to hear from TTs and their owners out there. Thank you all for your comments, notes, up-dates, and praise. Here are but a few . . .
Hey Dennis,
Well Kooper is about 16 weeks now and is a complete joy. He is smart, fun, loves people and is a total goof. We love him. He has his last series of shots next week and I'm guessing he'll be over 12 pounds. It's amazing how fast he grows. He comes to work with me every day and couldn't be better behaved. He greets our clients when they come in at the top of the hour, plays for a few minutes and then goes quietly to his crate until the next hour. The first thing everyone does when they walk in the door is turn and look for him. I've had three people seriously ask where I got him so when you are planning another litter let me know and I'll send you some names. These pictures were taken today. He's a handsome boy.
Jeff and Cheryl
Dennis-
She is doing great! Here is a pic as of today. She's healthy, fun, and happy. Sorry for the delay in the pics.
Ill send one with her and the kids soon I promise.
Hope you are well!
Sara
Dennis,
Here she is on cape cod Memorial weekend with Elliot. She is so gentle with him!
Thank God she loves the car!
Sara
Hi, Dennis~
Nice to speak with you today.
I appreciate your sharing your thoughts on cutting Lucy's hair. I still haven't decided. I love the look of the breed and don't mind regular grooming at all. The thought of giving her a quick bath in the summer is very enticing, though!
She received many, many comments that she was the absolute cutest puppy people had ever seen. She still gets tons of compliments on her beauty.
Anyway, attached are some photos of our beautiful baby. Not only do I feel like she's my fourth child, my daughter says our family feels complete now. We're all smitten, and everyone who meets her falls in love with her, too. She's such a peach! You've really done an amazing job breeding...as you said when we got her, she's perfect in every way.
All my best,
Angela
Dear Dennis,
Bob and I are continuing to talk about getting another Tibetan Terrier. Panda is doing great and is now about 14 months. When on patrol, he is "the very model of a modern major general"! Nik, our lab, is 9 and a bit stiff but cheerful. Certainly he would be an excellent older brother and Panda, too, we trust.
Are you planning another litter and when do you think the puppies would be born?
Judy
Dennis, we are back on Martha's Vineyard. We lost Morgan in Feb but Ziggy is great and loving a grassy yard! Ziggy stops traffic because he is so gorgeous and fun.
Have a great summer. Debbie
Hi Dennis. I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you again for Smores. She is a wonderful little puppy. We couldn't ask for better. Attached are a few recent pictures. Mary
Great hearing from you!
And there is always some show news.
Here at home Little Passion made her debut. She’s earned a few points in competition: one Best of Breed. She’s just beginning and needs to learn the finer points of presentation…but we’ll get there!
Lastly, a little memorial for my Bubble. This past week she crossed over the rainbow bridge, leaving while peacefully sleeping next to her owner’s lounger late at night in front of the tv. Not until he woke in the wee hours of the morning to go to bed did he realize Bubble had passed.
She lived here most of her life until she went to a cousin’s to be a companion to an elderly gentleman. She will be greatly missed…her sweet nature, always giving in her presence, will leave a huge hole in their lives.
While here at Kiara, Bubble had a great show career (check it out in her profile in the “In The Spotlight” section of the website). She was also the most exceptional mom! Her kids, grandkids, even great-grandkids are an attest to her importance here – and in other TT lines. We will miss you Bubble.

Not a whole lot to report…but because of the holiday season passing, a lot of up-dates on Kiara TTs out there. And I love to get the news and the pictures. So sharing them is a pleasure.
COOPER
But first there was an opportunity to visit at the Eastern Dog Club show weekend in December. Travis and Miles brought Cooper (Kiara Ewok Among Us) and Mike and Marie were present with their lovelies, Rosie and Bee (Lukilu Everything's Coming Up Roses At Kiara and Lukilu Little Song Of Mine). It was fun to catch up and share a little of holiday spirit. BEE
ROSIE
It was good visiting with Cooper,Miles, and Travis. And it isn't Christmas unless I get to see Mike and Marie!
Up-dates and good-wishes came in from new Kiara TT companions, who just left with their little ones, and from those who have been paired up with the best companions they have ever known!
Hello Dennis,
We hope you and all of the TTs had a wonderful holiday season and have a happy and healthy new year. We love the Youtube holiday video. Life is busy here especially with an inquisitive active puppy. I wanted to forward a couple of new pictures of Gunner. For Halloween he dressed up like a prisoner. He was a real trouper and kept his costume on while we handed out candy to the children. Gunner is a celebrity around here. Everyone falls in love with him and he is quite the charmer. Gunner loved opening his presents and is very good at tearing paper (even my papers for school!). He's 35lbs of a lean mean puppy machine and he loves the snow!! It is hard to believe his first birthday is fast approaching. He is such a joy and blessing. Gunner sends wags to his "Mommy" and "Daddy" :)
Take care and best wishes,
John, Suzanne & Gunner
Dear Dennis,
Here are some snaps of Panda. It was VERY HOT when he joined Niki for a 'meet and greet" kid session this summer... A "two second shot" before much welcoming air conditioning. Panda was wonderful with the kids. He has every good reason to be proud of himself and his older brother. Speaking of Niki, he has his ups and downs health wise, but is an exemplar older brother. As you so wisely said "monkey see, monkey do".
We all hiked in Maine and Vermont this summer... the best. For Halloween, Panda went as the "Masked Panda Man". He is a good eater at 35 pounds but according to Dr. Stuart at our local animal hospital, "he is just right". His coat is lovely and not too burdensome for us ......... and most particularly for Panda... we'll see.
Congratulations on the recent arrival of "Passion". She is a dreamboat. Panda would love a buddy some day if it fits.
With all best wishes for the holiday season and a peaceful world in the New Year.
Judy
Dennis - all good here. Riley is getting lots of love and attention. He saw the vet this morning and though I wasn't there, it sounds as if he is healthy (not surprised). He didn't pee from the time we left your house until he wet our bed last night!
He's sort of getting used to the crate and spending lots of time on our laps. Starting to play more and is universally seen as cute! I'll send you pictures of our experience at the airport, which will make you smile.
Thanks for everything and I'll keep you in pictures in the coming weeks.
Richard
Hi! Hope you both had a great Thanksgiving. Thought you might like to see a picture from this summer--the whole crew. Enzo is actually a LOT more orange than you can see in this shot, but he's beautiful here nevertheless. And Dennis, Tuli and Socks are their usual mischievous selves...doing great.
Fondly,

Hi Dennis,
We've been meaning to writer sooner…to let you know we are so in love with little Bodi! He's so smart, fun and even Deli is kind of liking him! What a great dog he is!!
Most of the time, Bodi is relentless in playing with Deli, who 90% of the time allows him to pull on his ears, whiskers, and land on him like a puddle! Then a bit of grrrr'ing when he's fed up. Doesn't seem to faze Bodi...
He's grown like a weed and now almost 11 pounds at 3 months old. I sent away to the AKC for his registration with the name Kiara Divine Revelation. But we'll just call him Bodi!
Hope all is well and your travels to Mexico are still happening.
I'll try to be better with updates and send photos...
Cheers!

dennis.....just want to say happy new year and tell you how much we are enjoying reilly....she has been just fabulous and so adorable.....of course the normal "puppy nipping" chewing jumping etc. but we are diligently working on all of that.....oh and our trip home with her was perfect....i must say i was relieved when you said she would not have to stop on 95!
we were in vermont for three weeks after christmas so she had plenty of snow experience (as well as people and little ones) which only prepared her for the 18-20 inches we received here last night.......absolutely amazing but we plowed right through early this morning.....snow up to my knees and she took care of everything…i just dressed for it and actually like being out in the snow and cold...she is so wonderful in the snow and loves to dig her nose in and jump through it........i tried to keep her out for quite awhile
yesterday and we even did a little "old lady running" on my part" as she is very agile and quick........she enjoyed it and slept soundly most of the afternoon....
the crate has been sensational........first night a little bit (not long at all) of crying and not a peep since in fact i have had to walk through kitchen when she is in crate and if it is not when i plan to feed her or have her out i don't act social at all and she stays quietly.......i come down when i am ready anywhere from 6:30 - 8:00 and she is wonderful and we get right out.........spend lots of time throwing toys around kitchen/familyroom both here and in vermont and she retreives them....is really fast and we count that as some of her exercise too....
hope your trip to mexico was good and i know that my wonderful friend lynn is eagerly awaiting word on the arrival of your next litter.....she is my friend who visited susan’s dogs with me and will provide a fabulous home for one of your dogs ....and they will have fun together......a friend who is away for a couple of months has given me permission to bring reilly over to her totally fenced in yard so will be a great place for dogs to run...
oh also we really appreciate all of the literature you provided when we picked her up........ and one last question....she has lots of toys she enjoys and i try to alternate them so she does not have everything around her but the little orange squeaky ball (i believe has a smiley face on it) you sent home with us is by far --i would say-- the top toy of the list......so of course being the doting mom i am always crawling under furniture to find it......it is just great and i have looked in various pet stores and never seen anything quite like it.....would love to have more information and anyplace i might be able to find more..........do you think that is possible......
anyway best to you and just wanted to tell you how crazy we are about reilly!!!!!!!

Dennis -- I'm still learning to attach photos to my e-mails so I hope you get the 2 cute photos of Ziggy! He is growing up so quickly -- he's now 5 months old, beginning his obedience training, getting along really well with Morgan (who just turned 16), loving the dog park at our club, playing and socializing with lots of Goldens, Wheatons, Havanese, Golden Doodles, Labs -- and Ziggy isn't afraid of any of the dogs! Dick and I are so glad that Ziggy joined our family, especially with Morgan slowing down. We love his personality and his intelligence, and he is truly a gorgeous Tibetan -- he stops traffic when we go for walks because he is so handsome and has such a wonderful prancing walk. Thank you so much for raising such wonderful Tibetans. We'll bring him for a visit when we return to the Vineyard in late May. Right now we're enjoying 68 degrees and sunshine, and I know you've had a rough winter with lots of snow. Thank goodness Tibetans love the snow! Talk to you soon.

Hi Dennis. I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you again for Smores. She is a wonderful little puppy. We couldn't ask for better. Attached are a few recent pictures.
And finally, Sue placed an ad in the Westminister catalog that was exceptional and should be reprinted. Enjoy the beautiful photo (a Lightning little daughter: Fergie) in the best kind of TT poses: candid.

More later.
