2019 Holiday News & Reviews

The Holiday Season is upon us. Last year I came back from a warm, restful vacation in Puerto Vallarta to enjoy the season and its merriment. No such luck this year...just dog shows. Not the same!

In every way possible though, going to try to enjoy the up-coming Holiday Season...

 

However, dog shows haven't taken too much time away. And little Jessica (Kiara I'm Not Bad I'm Just Drawn That Way) is almost all grown up. Still struttin' in the puppy class...she earned her first points.

Newest member of the Kiara Klan is Keys (aka Kiara This Girl Is On Fire). Yes, she is down from the "fire line" that goes all the way back to Whiskey (CH Kiara Great Balls Of Fire). An endearing impish and spirited addition who always tests the limits because she comes complete with that TT brain. A nice little package: square with real TT dark eyes and a lovely silvering coat. Mom, Doris, and dad, Bolt, produced one lovely little girl for me. And if the stars align, there will be a repeat breeding.

 

Always great hearing how the family is doing. From those who are very local like Laura's crew...to those high up in the Rocky Mountains like Susan's, I love knowing that their lives are helping to make their companions' lives more enjoyable.

Birthdays are always wonderful to hear about. Chance was a lucky boy to find such a loving home in which to celebrate his birthday and Masha is so loved as well. Her family sends photos every year of the event. And some like Mallomar are still celebrated at 11!

I turned 5 yesterday! Mummy made a donation to TT Rescue in my honor. Although I did not come from Rescue, I was returned to the breeder when I was 2 through no fault of my own and Rescue was very helpful getting me acclimated to my new housemate, Bruce, who did come from Rescue. My other housemate is Lark who is related to me somehow. I'm pretty relaxed here now! Any other TTs born on October 24, 2014? Happy Birthday to them too.

The first snow is always an amazing experience for a young TT. It's like the "high in the Himalayas" just clicks on from from deep within their senses...it's so much a part of their early heritage. I too have two young ones experiencing it today.

One of Keys' littermates, Oliver, found himself in a home with human and feline companions. His furry companions haven't quite warmed up yet to that constantly-in-motion-while-awake wee TT boy. It'll happen. But his new mom and dad find it all so appealing.

I hope all is well with you.

Just a quick update on Little Oliver at 13 weeks. He’s not so little anymore. He had his rabies shot today and weighed in at 9.5 pounds. He’s growing up in leaps and bounds and keeping us on our toes. He is such a joy – it’s hard to remember when he wasn’t part of our family. I’m not sure the cats feel like that yet. We’re hoping that when he stops chasing anything that moves, they’ll venture out of our bedroom. The only time they do so now is when he is in his downstairs home.

He is such a smart puppy. We had a puppy playpen until last weekend. We had to replace it with the crate when you figured out how to open the zipper. Whitney is helping us to start his training and already he is sitting to our command (with a treat in mind of course).

No matter how wordy or to the point...hearing about the antics...the endeavors...or just how they're loved, is something that makes my day. And especially great to see and hear how they are doing during this special time of year. I'm so grateful to everyone.

Look at their faces. I just enjoy admiring the TT expressions...wistfully endearing...with a dash of mischief...all rolled in total total love.

I hope you’re doing well! I need to make a decision regarding the time to spay Maya. The vet suggested the middle of November. Some people suggest waiting until she has her first season. Do you have a sense of when that has happened for the girls in her family?

She continues to collect fans in New Jersey. Everybody comments on her color, a truly beautiful mix. And so silky. She does this funny thing, sort of walking commando style when another dog is really close, to encourage them to play with her. Very sweet!

We’ve all fallen in love with him, especially my nine-year-old daughter. Do you have any litters coming up where puppies are still available? Moxie’s first Nosework Trial (Performance Scent Dog) was last weekend! She nailed her time odor tests (Birch, Anise, and Clove) and succeeded in her novice container search. It was so much fun –the dog is doing what they love to naturally do.

Hi Dennis,

I hope you’re doing well. I hope you remember me as I have had five of your TTs and referred a handful of other friends who all have and love your TTs.

I am not sure if I told you, but we moved to Jackson Hole Wyoming about three years ago. Our doggies absolutely love it. We hike the mountains almost every day! They are almost never on a leash and they have so many friends out here. They have traveled all over the west with us in our camper and have even crossed the border once or twice into Canada! To say these dogs are living their best life is an understatement.

Jackson our oldest is 12, Scoot is 7, and Ranger is 6. I am thinking I need to add another to the pack before the pups get too old. They are the most welcoming pack. We are often having other friends’ dogs over.

I am not in a huge rush but would be curious of your breeding timeline. I was recently on your site and it looks like you and the Kiara line are thriving as always. I love seeing all the dogs!

Please let me know and I can see if any of our timing works.

Since 2008 I have prepared a YouTube video of photos I have received from all the wonderful TT families who have made a loving home for a Kiara Tibetan Terrier. I saved them all, scan the holiday cards, and try to include most of them. This year is no exception.
